Lakhimpur Girls' College

The Department of Zoology was established in 1990. This department offers higher secondary and degree courses as per the prescribed syllabus of AHSEC and Dibrugarh University respectively. The department has chosen environmental zoology as its major thrust area of research. For the last few years the department has beezn undertaking research works on soil and degraded ecosystem in the vicinity of Lakhimpur district.

VISION

1. To develop infrastructural facility and introduce tools and techniques in relevant fields.
2. To inculcate amongst the students the highest values of life, respect for nature and make them able to contribute effectively for their welfare and society in this dynamic era. 

MISSION

Department of Zoology is to produce highly motivated graduate students which will be able to contribute towards sustainable development, well being of mankind and conservation of natural resources.
