The college has been enrolled under the National Green Corps (NGC) programme supported by the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Government of India. The National Green Corps (NGC) is a major initiative of Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Government of India for creating environmental awareness and building cadres of young children working towards environmental conservation and sustainable development.
The Eco-Club of Lakhimpur Girls’ College was formed under National Green Corps (NGC) as per instruction of Assam Science Technology and Environment Council (ASTEC), Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of Assam. Since its formation, the Eco-Club activities are carried out by the Club from time to time with active involvement of the In-charge Teacher of College Eco-Club, Teachers and Eco-Club members.

Nature of activities performed by the Club :
- Organize seminars, debates, lectures and popular talks on environmental issues.
- Organize field visits to environmentally important sites including polluted and degrade sites, wildlife parks, etc.
- Organize rallies, marches, human chains and street theatre at public places with a view to spread environmental awareness on 4Rs concept viz. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Recover.
- Test soil, water and air quality and study their impact on health.
- Celebration of important environmental days in colleges such as World Environment Day, World Wetland Day, Earth Day, etc. as per Thematic Annual Calendar by organising debates, quiz, slogan competitions, drawing, poster competitions, etc.
- Plantation drives in and around the college campus.
- Cleanliness drives in and around the college campus.
Programmes organized:
- The Eco Club, Lakhimpur Girls' College organised an awarness programme at Collegiate High School, Lakhimpur on 20th February, 2021. The primary focus of the programme named "Sanskar: Maanuhe Maanuhor Baabe" was to create awareness on witch hunting and superstitious beliefs and practices.
- The Eco Club, Lakhimpur Girls' College organised an extension programme at Lakhimpur Girls' Higher Secondary School, Lakhimpur on 4th March, 2021. The primary focus of the programme named "Sanskar: Maanuhe Maanuhor Baabe" was to create awareness on witch hunting and superstitious beliefs and practices.
- The National Science Day was organised on 28th February, 2022 by Department of Zoology in collaboration with Eco Club, Lakhimpur Girls' College. The event was organised on the theme 'Integrated Approach in Science and Technology for a Sustainable Future'.
- The Eco Club, Lakhimpur Girls' College celebrated the World Water Day on 22nd March, 2022 in the Digital Classroom of the college. Mr. Deepjyoti Barman, Proprietor of Add Square Solutions, Abhayapuri, Guwahati delivered a speech on efficient energy management and impact of water on energy generation.
