The motto of National Service Scheme(NSS) is ‘NOT ME BUT YOU’
The Lakhimpur Girls' College was enrolled in National Service Scheme under Dibrugarh University in the academic session 1977. The scheme provides opportunities to the students to channelize their youthful energies into development and constructive activities. The sole aim of the NSS is to provide hands on experience to young students in delivering community service. The scheme enables the students to offer their free and good will services to the most wanted and backward places of the region. Dr. Mahmuda Begum, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics is the Programme Officer of the NSS Unit, Lakhimpur Girls' College.

2016-2017
In the financial year 2016-2017 the NSS unit of Lakhimpur Girls’ College has done the following works:
Regular Activities:
1. Cleanliness and Plantation Drive: Two nos. of cleanliness and plantation drive were undertaken on 12/02/2017 and 18/03/2017 in college campus of Lakhimpur Girls’ College.
2. World Environmental Day: Celebrated World Environmental Day on 5th June 2016 in the college campus of Lakhimpur Girls’ College.
3. International Yoga Day: Celebrated 2nd International Yoga Day on 21/06/2016 in college campus of Lakhimpur Girls’ College.
4. Swachh Bharat Abhijan: Cleanliness drive under Swachh Bharat Abhijan on 12/08/2016 and 26/03/2017.
5. Donation of books to Book Bank of College Library: Donated 9 nos. of booksto the Book Bank of College Library of Lakhimpur Girls’ College.
Special Camp:
A one day camp was held at Nagar Bapuji L. P. School, North Lakhimpur on 22/03/2017 where fifty volunteers and six teachers of the college attented and following activities were undertaken:
1. Cleaning and plantation drive at school premises.
2. Organized two workshops-
(a) “Axomia bhakhar prarambhik gyan”and
(b) “Removing fear psychosis about English subject among students”.
3. Donation of Books: Donated 10 nos. of books to the library of Nagar Bapuji L. P. School, North Lakhimpur.
2015-2016
In the financial year 2015-2016 the NSS unit of Lakhimpur Girls’ College has done the following works:
Regular Activities:
1. Cleanliness and Plantation Drive: Two nos. of cleanliness and plantation drive were undertaken on 14/02/2016 and 20/03/2016 in college campus of Lakhimpur Girls’ College.
2. Seminar: Organized two nos. of Seminar at Lakhimpur Girls’ College on 27/02/2016 (Topic-Aims and Objects of NSS), and on 16/03/2016 (Topic: Role of students in preservation of Environment).
3. Health Awareness Camp: Organized one health camp at Pachim Laluk L. P. School, Laluk, North Lakhimpur on 01/03/2016.
4. Orientation Programme: Organized one orientation programme on 19/03/2016 (Topic: Axomia bhakhar prarombhik gyan) at North Lakhimpur Town M. E. School, Khelmati, North Lakhimpur.
