The basic objective of Equal Opportunity Center is to oversee the effective implementation of policies and programmes for disadvantaged groups, to provide guidance and counselling with respect to academic, financial, social and other matters and to enhance the diversity within the campus. These disadvantaged groups are SCs, STs, OBC (non-creamy layer), minorities and differently-abled persons.
Facilities for Differently-abled (Divyangjan) Students:
Lakhimpur Girls’ College has made provisions to provide necessary facilities to Persons with Disabilities (PwD) on campus. The main objective of this important step is to create an inclusive environment and a safe space for differently abled students. Regarding this, the college has the following facilities for students who are differently abled.
- Four ramps have been constructed for easy access to classrooms: One in the Administrative Building, second in the Chemistry Block, third in the Old Arts Block, and fourth in the New Arts Building.
- A ramp has been constructed in the washroom for students for easy access.
- A wheelchair for use.
- Concessions and fee waiver for PwDs.
- Guidance and counselling to differently abled students is provided when needed.During examinations, required assistance is provided to differently abled students.
