Lakhimpur Girls' College

The Department of Geography was established in 2002. This department was established with the focus of popularizing geography. This department offers higher secondary and degree courses as per the prescribed syllabus of AHSEC and Dibrugarh University respectively. The department has undertaking diverse fields of research especially pertaining rural livelihood and solid-waste disposal system of North Lakhimpur. In this regard two Minor Research Projects are going on.

VISION

1. To impart quality education, so as students can acquire basic foundation of geography which will enable them to understand and appreciate man-environment relationship.
2. To grow into a completely developed department, so that its’ ability develops to provide its students high quality education and gains capability to conduct research leading to valuable solutions.

MISSION

We are in a mission to the advancement of geographical knowledge of the students as well as society through them, for a fundamental understanding of sustainable and symbiotic man-environment relationships.
